What is a One-to-One Request?
A one-to-one request lets you send a task directly to a specific helper or professional. Only you and that helper can see the task — it's private and not visible to other users or the public.
Step 1: Find the Helper You Want
Browse the Helpers or Professionals page, or search for someone by name, skill, or service. You can also discover helpers through ratings, reviews, or featured profiles.
Step 2: Visit Their Profile
Click on the helper's name or avatar to open their full profile page. You'll see their skills, services offered, ratings, reviews, hourly rate, and professional offerings.
Step 3: Click 'Send Request'
On their profile, click the 'Send Request' button. If the helper has listed specific offerings or skills, you can also click directly on one of those — this pre-selects that offering for your request.
Step 4: The Task Form Opens Pre-Filled
You'll be taken to the task creation form with:
• The helper's name and avatar shown at the top in a highlighted box.
• A 'Focus of this request' field — pre-filled with the offering you clicked, or type your own.
• The task title auto-generated (e.g. 'Branding with Antonio').
• The description auto-generated with a personalised message asking about availability and pricing.
• If the helper has multiple offerings, you can click different skill/offering pills to switch — the title and description update automatically.
Step 5: Fill In the Remaining Details
• Adjust the title and description if needed.
• Set your country and postcode (auto-filled from your profile).
• Set a due date.
• Optionally set a budget — or leave it blank to receive a quote from the helper.
Note: Images, categories, tags, and skills fields are hidden for one-to-one requests since the task is tailored to a specific person.
Step 6: Post the Task
Click 'Post Task'. The following happens:
1. The task is created as a private task assigned to that helper.
2. A conversation is automatically created between you and the helper.
3. A message is sent in that conversation with a link to the task.
4. The helper receives an email notification about the new request.
Step 7: Wait for Their Quote
If you left the budget blank, you'll see a message on the task page: 'Waiting for [helper name] to submit a quote.' The helper will submit a bid with their price and message.
Step 8: Accept the Bid and Pay
Once the helper submits their quote, you can accept it. Payment is required before the helper is told to start work.
Step 9: Communicate Freely After Payment
Once payment is confirmed, the contact information filter is lifted in your conversation with the helper. You can now share phone numbers, email addresses, WhatsApp details, or any other contact information directly in the chat. This is especially useful for:
• Booking a first session with a therapist or coach.
• Coordinating a large contract where ongoing communication is needed.
• Paying a deposit for a bigger project and then arranging the details directly.
Before payment, contact details are blocked for everyone's safety. After payment, you're free to communicate however works best for you both.
Optional: Open to All Helpers
If the helper doesn't respond or you change your mind, you can click 'Open to all helpers' on the task page. This removes the assignment and makes the task visible to everyone. You'll be warned that the task title and description may need editing since they were written for a specific person.
Optional: Remove the Helper
While creating the task, you can click 'Remove helper' at any time to clear the assignment and switch to a normal public task.
